The mission of the Georgetown Township Fire Protection District is to provide quality fire, rescue, and emergency services to the residents of Georgetown Township.

April 2018 Training Update

The training division has been hard at work in April keeping our staff busy with a multitude of different training’s.  We have sent staff to FDIC 2018 in Indianapolis as well as Heavy Extrication training with the Northern Ohio F.O.O.L.s.  Crew training’s have been on pump operations, water supply, engine company operations, SCBA’s, hose advancement, airway management for EMS, and drivers training  just to name a few. Our training’s have been built around strengthening our basic fundamentals and gaining knowledge in more complicated area.

Moreover, we held in-house training for staff on the rope systems that GTFD uses, how to deploy the systems, and how to work the systems for low angle and swift water rescues.  These training allow new staff to become familiar with the systems and expectations of rope rescue as well  as a refresher for the veteran staff.
