The training division has been hard at work in August keeping our staff busy with a multitude of different trainings. We have had staff attend Barn Boss Leadership, Firefighting Principles and Practices, and the Fire Investigation Conference. Crew trainings have been on building construction, ventilation, vehicle stabilization, water supply, engine company operations, truck company operations, hose advancement, the CAT tourniquet device to control major bleeding, and drivers training just to name a few. Our training’s have been built around strengthening our basic fundamentals and gaining knowledge in more complicated area.
Moreover, we are finished our annual hose testing for the district. Every section of hose on our apparatus and in the station was tested, checked, documented, and either rolled or placed back onto apparatus. This process ensures that our hose is serviceable and in good condition.
