February 2018 Training Update

GTFD staff has been busy in the month of February with a multitude of different training’s. We completed training on Swiftwater Rescue Operations to ensure our skills were sharp, drivers training for new engineer’s on different apparatus, and on our new E-tools from Genesis for extrication.  These are battery operated tools for extrication (cutting, spreading, and pushing) that will be kept on Engine 21 on the west-side of town and mirror the E-tools kept on Quad 22 on the east-side.

Moreover, we have focused our crew training’s on PPE care and maintenance, EMS, street familiarization, ropes and knots, hose deployment, and vehicle stabilization. Our training’s have been built around strengthening our basic fundamentals and gaining knowledge in more complicated area.
