The mission of the Georgetown Township Fire Protection District is to provide quality fire, rescue, and emergency services to the residents of Georgetown Township.

Training Update May 2018

The training division has been hard at work in May keeping our staff busy with a multitude of different training’s.  Crew training’s have been on pump operations, water supply, engine company operations, SCBA’s, hose advancement, EMS, and drivers training  just to name a few. Our training’s have been built around strengthening our basic fundamentals and gaining knowledge in more complicated area.

Moreover, we have been hosting a Module B (Hazmat Awareness and Operations) class through District 9.  We have a number of volunteer members enrolled in this class furthering their fire service education.  We also conducted a Live Fire burn of a structure with the Greenville Township Volunteer Fire Department.  GTVFD had obtained the structure and prepped it for burn training and was gracious enough to allow 4 of our newer volunteer members to attend and receive more “real world” training. These training allow new staff to become familiar with the operations here at GTFD, reinforce things that have been taught previously, lay the ground work for new material to learn, and is a refresher for the veteran staff.
